I was born in Switzerland and grew up in a little village nestled in the hills surrounded by pastures, woodlands and rivers. Some of my earliest memories are taking walks with my family and picking flowers as we went along. My Mum was always happy to receive a little flower bouquet from me!
Flower girl in the making
I soon understood that not only my Mum loved receiving flowers. Nothing made me happier than seeing the smile on someones face when I gave them a little bunch of flowers. I guess some things have never changed!
Florist in the making
My love of flowers made a career in Floristry as the next natural step. I started my Florist apprenticeship at 15 years of age. My natural love of flowers was fine-tuned with 3 years of theoretical, practical training and working as a trainee florist. At the age of 18 I qualified as a Florist.
A change of direction
Life doesn’t always go to plan! Years of standing as a Florist took it’s toll on my back and I was forced to take a break from the job that I loved but every cloud has a silver lining! I started working in a Bar & Restaurant and quickly found a new love as a cocktail bartender.
Cocktails and Dreams!
I found my floral creativity could be equally useful when making cocktails. The perfect bouquet is a mix flowers and foliage, arranged to compliment each other. The same balance of colour, taste and served in the perfect glass makes a fantastic cocktail!. Of course a happy customer is the cherry on the cake!
Back to my roots
A change of life again! Along came an Englishman! Love at first sight! Moved to England! 3 children later and a few different hair styles later I found myself looking for the next step in my life. I always had held on to a dream of having my own Florist business and now seemed to be the time to give it a go…
Back to my roots
So here I am in my Flower Gallery. I’m lucky enough to have a loyal following of customers that love my style of floristry. Life has gone full circle and I’m back doing what I loved as a little girl. Nothing has really changed though… I just want to make people happy through the beauty of flowers!
Passionate Flowers was born
In 2014 I started arranging flowers that I bought from my local supermarket. I’d put them for sale outside my house and on a local Facebook selling page. Very quickly my business grew! From a little seedling it grew into more than I could have ever imagined.
